Create an RSI Account

Welcome to Star Citizen! You need an RSI account to pledge for game packages, add ships, and install the game to play. Keep reading for helpful info on how to create and use your RSI account.

Creating your account is a simple and straight forward process.  To begin, click this link, or go to the RSI website, clicking on the ACCOUNT option in the upper right, and then the ENLIST NOW button on the login window.  This will bring up the form shown below.  Keep reading to find information to explain the important bits and how it will apply to your account after it is created.  

	Account Name This will be your Handle.  Choose this carefully as this will be the public facing name that will identify you to all other players, both in game and out.  Your handle cannot contain a dash, underscore, or space at the beginning or end, and certain accented letters and other punctuation are not supported at this time.
	Email The email address that will be associated with your RSI account.  You will use this to login to your account, along with the password.
	Password Make a good one!  When typing it in, you will see the requirements and an estimate of how strong the password is. Never give your password to anyone!
	Referral Code Has a friend given you a recruitment code?  If so, enter it into this text box now. This cannot be done retroactively once the account is created!
	Stay Informed This checkbox will sign you up for our newsletters.

When creating your account, make sure to review and accept the Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy by checking the final box in the enlistment form.  You must agree to both of these in order to play and complete the account creation process.  If you do not agree with any part of these policies, then you will not be able to play Star Citizen.

Check your email for a confirmation email. The sender is no-reply@cloudimperiumgames.com and the subject is RSI Account activation. Click the link in the email confirmation to activate your account.

If you have trouble finding the email, search by the email or subject. You may need to whitelist our emails to always receive updates, password change requests, and more. 

If you have a friend that already has an RSI Account, ask them for their Referral Code!  Once you have it, check the enlist form information above for where and when to enter the code.  Remember, the code cannot be added after the account is created so get it now!

What do you get? You get 5,000 UEC in-game currency used to buy weapons, shields, and decoration items. If you pledge $40 or more, your friend will receive Referral Points. After you have joined, you can start referring your friends too! Learn more about the Referral Program!

To further protect your account, we recommend enabling a Multi-Factor, or Two-Step, Authenticator. When you log in, you must enter a code from your authenticator to access My RSI, Spectrum, and the game.

I received an error saying my email is already in use.

If you received this error and cannot proceed with creating your account, then you may have already created an RSI account in the past.  Go through the normal account login process should this be the case, and if you have forgotten your password, then you'll need to head to Account Recovery to reset it.

How do I play Star Citizen?

You just need a Game Package.  With the exception of the Squadron 42 standalone pledge, these packages all contain a digital download of Star Citizen, a ship, and a few other goodies for your account. You can pick through and choose from the game packages in the store.

Now you can install and play the game!
