Starting with the 300 series, we’re giving you the ability to make your ship yours, with customization options ranging from exterior paint jobs to decorative items, and more.
How do I pledge for a customized 300 series ship?
Check out our Ship Customizer Guide for details on how to customize your Origin 300 series ship.
I pledged for a package that has 300 series ship in it. How do I customize it?
Pledging for a ship package that includes a customize-able ship will not give an option to customize at checkout. The ships in this package can still be customized using the method described below; through the button on the My Hangar page on the website.
I already own a 300 series ship - can I customize it?
If you already own a 300 series ship, the option to customize it will appear in the My Hangar screen. This is valid for one time only and once customized, the option will be removed.
Should you wish to make changes after this, the ship will need to be reclaimed for store credit and start again by pledging for another 300 series ship.
Not all ships are available in the store at all times, and RSI Support will not be able to assist with making a ship available for pledging or re-customization.
The images in the customizer interface are not working.
Turn off any script blockers, ad blockers, or similar browser addons, such as uBlock. There should be an option to whitelist the robertsspaceindustries.com domain.
If this does not correct the issue, try using a different web browser instead.
Can I pledge for customizations with store credit?
Yep!
What happens when I reclaim my customized ship?
The total value of the ship, including customizations, will be attributed as store credit. Customizations cannot be bought back, so only reclaim if you intend on losing both the ship and customizations.
For example, if $5 of premium customizations are applied to a 300i (base value of $55), reclaiming the customized ship will add $60 of store credit to the account.
What will happen to my customizations if my ship is lost, stolen, or destroyed?
In these cases, filing an insurance claim on your customized ship will return it to you with all your personal touches and equipment loadouts intact.
If I upgrade my ship, do I keep the customizations?
No - the customizations are removed and the value is attributed to the store credit ledger, only the ship is upgraded.
If I don't like my customizations, can I change them?
Customizations cannot be directly changed after they have been applied, however, you can reclaim the ship for store credit and pledge for another 300 series ship via the store. You can then customize it according to your requirements.
Not all ships are available in the store at all times, and RSI Support will not be able to assist with making a ship available for pledging or re-customization.
There are plans to allow for ways for players to adjust customizations in-game after the initial ship is altered. Keep an eye on Spectrum and the Roadmap for more information on that in the future, once more is known beyond the planning phase. Check out the Q&A session for the ship customization system for current information and plans.
If I buy back or upgrade to a 300 series ship, can I customize it?
Yes, to both questions, via the My Hangar screen.
I've customized my 300 series ship, but now I want to upgrade to a higher value variant in the 300 series line. Do my customizations transfer to the new 300 series ship?
Each time an upgrade occurs, the customization status is reset. You will receive the upgraded ship, but the customizations will be removed and the value attributed to store credit. You can then customize your new 300 variant in the My Hangar screen.
Can I buy the ship back with customizations, such as the Origin Celebration hull color?
Reclaiming a ship will strip it of all customizations and if bought back it will be the base ship and load-out as per the pledge store. Any special items such as the Origin Celebration hull color will also be lost, and if it is no longer available (outside of the promotion) it cannot be retrieved or pledged for again, so reclaim your ship with caution!
