Twitch offers a way for a game's community to engage with games that they love in a unique way by linking players together through videos and live streaming done by others with the same passion. The item or Twitch Drop system takes this further, rewarding special in-game items to players that watch the content that streamers are creating for the game.
We'll be going over the very basics, best practices, and troubleshooting steps to ensure players can get the drops during the promotions with as little headaches as possible.

Connecting a Twitch Account

In summary, you can find the external account linking option within your Account Settings on the main RSI Website, under the LINKED ACCOUNTS option.
To get to the settings page:
- Go to the main RSI Website.
- Login to your RSI Account.
- Click your Account Icon in the upper right.
- Select the Account Dashboard option.
- Choose the Settings option.
- Select the LINKED ACCOUNTS option from the list on the left.
Make certain that your Twitch account is showing up in this section of your Account Settings before continuing.

Ensure Accounts Are Logged In
Before going to watch your favorite Streamers, make certain that your Twitch account is both linked and logged in. To be sure, you can also logout of Twitch and then back in before watching the stream.
Confirm Current Promotions
To start on your quest for any special item drops, check the promotion, item, and stream watching requirement within the Drops & Rewards section of your Twitch account.

Check that the Stream is Participating
Once you've confirmed the proper promotion you are looking for, the next step is to locate a Star Citizen stream to watch.
Not all game streams will qualify for the Twitch drop credit! Those that are will have the Drops Enabled tag on them.
Claim Your Drops
In order for the item to be delivered to your RSI Account, you must claim the drop item on Twitch. This can be done from your Twitch inventory page.
Troubleshooting Twitch Drop Issues
Allow Time for Drops to be Registered
The drops will take some time to register and update on the linked RSI Account. Assuming that everything appears to have registered correctly on the Twitch side of things, give it time to register back on our side for the reward to be applied. Generally, the item may take up to 72 hours to show in your RSI account.
Disable Script/Ad Blockers
Internet ads are an ever present pain in the online world, and in some cases can be actively harmful if they are abused by hostile parties. However sometimes these browser addons and programs designed to defend against these things can interfere with a website's ability to function properly. A sneaky one to keep an eye out for are various "web protection" functions within a VPN or other security suite app.
If your quest and viewing progress appears to not be getting tracked properly, consider temporarily turning them off for Twitch's website or app until you have your watch credit.
We DO NOT recommend totally disabling all anti-virus programs for this purpose. Focus on the ones specifically designed to block website scripts and other actions.

If all other avenues of troubleshooting have been exhausted, please provide a screenshot of your Twitch Drops inventory page in a ticket to RSI Support with a description of the issue. We'll need the screenshot to show both your Twitch username and the special Star Citizen drop marked as claimed.
