We are tracking an issue where players are encountering error 30009/30018 when attempting to login to the game. Sometimes, this will clear up after enough time has passed but other times players will need to take additional steps to correct the problem.
This issue crops up most often when players logout or crash while inside a ship or in a no-fly zone. For now until we can track down the cause, we recommend avoiding logging out in a ship's bed to limit the chances of this occurring.
Workarounds
If you were playing with a friend before you left the game while on-board a ship and encountered this error, if your ship is still present in game, have your friend destroy your ship.
Alternately, if it is possible to enter Arena Commander with the ship that you previously logged out in, using the ship in this mode may help correct the issue on the PU.
Switch VPN Regions
If players are encountering this error and are also utilizing a Virtual Private Network or VPN service for privacy or security reasons, we have seen reports that switching to a different VPN server or region can restore access.
Fully close and exit the RSI Launcher before doing this within your chosen VPN's options.
Change your DNS Server
We have also had reports from players that updating or changing their Domain Name System (DNS) server has shown some success in restoring access to the game. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the Control Panel.
- Click Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
-
Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS. For example:
- To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click the Ethernet interface and select Properties.
- To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click the Wi-Fi interface and select Properties.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
-
Select the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then click Properties.
-
Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IP addresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNS server, write them down for future reference.
-
Replace those addresses with the IP addresses of the Google DNS servers:
- For IPv4:
8.8.8.8
and/or8.8.4.4
.- If this one does not work, try
4.2.2.2
and4.2.2.4
- If this one does not work, try
- Disable IPv6.
- For IPv4:
- Restart your PC.
