As the error message states, this will appear when too many failed login attempts to an account have happened in relatively quick succession. This will result in the RSI account in question being blocked from all access for some time, but no ticket should be needed to recover access as a result in most cases. Below are some steps that should be taken to address this error should it be encountered.
Come Back Later
This account lock down is only temporary. Return after around an hour has passed and you should be able to attempt to login again. Continued consecutive login attempts after receiving this error will result in this error again.
Double Check Account Credentials
Typos can happen to the best of us. Ensure that both your email or Login ID and your password is entered correctly upon receiving an incorrect username/password error. If your account login information was saved from before, delete all characters in both the account name and password fields and manually enter both the email/Login ID and the password to try again.
Double Check Authentication Code
As before, typos can happen. But additionally when it comes to Two-Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA), the codes are only valid for a short time. Email MFA codes are valid for about five minutes while mobile authenticator codes are only valid for about 30 seconds.
If you are continually having trouble with an authentication code, or recently changed phones or email addresses, you may need to contact us for assistance if you do not have your back-up codes handy.
Reset Your Password
Rather than maxing out your account's login attempts, you can simply initiate the Account Recovery process to reset your password.
Continued Login Failures after Password Reset
Some accounts have both a Login ID as well as their email address which can be used to login. Should login attempts continue to fail even after a successful password reset, try using the other option if the Login ID option be enabled on your account. So, if you were using your email address before, use your Login ID and current password instead. Or vice versa if you were using your email address.
If you have forgotten your Login ID, assuming the option has been enabled by you in your RSI Account Settings previously, the Account Recovery process will also tell you your Login ID when you received the password reset email.
