Website and store errors are a plague upon us all. In this article, we will be trying to alleviate some of the pain of the more persistent errors that we see players encounter.

Invalid Cart
As expected from the text of the error itself, this error appears when attempting to add an item to your cart. This appears an account can only possess one of an item, such as a very limited ship or a buy back. Usually what has happened is that the player has made it all the way through the purchase process to the payment portion, but for some reason has not completed the order.
This leaves a pending order on the RSI Account! While a pending order is active, trying to redo an order will cause errors such as this one to appear and prevent the completion of purchases.
To correct this:
- You should already be logged into the RSI site, but if not, do so.
- Click on your account icon in the upper right.
- Go to your Account Dashboard.
- Select Billing and Subscriptions.
- Locate the pending order.
- Click the Cancel button.
Once the order has been cancelled here, go back to the Pledge Store and attempt the purchase process again.
"This item is limited to a single instance."
This particular error is quite similar to the "Invalid Cart" error noted above. Typically this happens because the store has checked your cart but has found that you already own a particular item of a limited or restricted quantity. There are a few things that could be happening here:
A Pending Order
In this case, a pending order is triggering the store to believe you are trying to acquire additional copies of a limited or restricted use item. The solution to this is the same as listed above under the Invalid Cart error.
A Buy Back Order
This instance of this order is a little strange, but it involves attempting to buy back an item that is restricted to a single instance of one per account. For example, receiving a gift of a special promotional starter pack - such as some that appear during the Interstellar Aerospace Expo (IAE), reclaiming it, and then attempting to buy a new pledge of that same starter pack will trigger this error.
The solution here is to reclaim the current pledge on the account.
RSI Support cannot assist with bypassing these "single instance" account restrictions.
Pledge Store is Charging Tax on Store Credit Orders
Orders that are paid for using 100% store credit to cover the purchase should not be charged tax of any kind.
If the pledge store is attempting to charge you tax for something that you are using store credit to pay for, then the store credit hasn't been applied properly. Do not continue until that has been resolved or else it will charge your credit card!
Go back to the text box where you entered the amount of store credit you wished to use and ensure that you click the ADD button in the text box to add the store credit to your order.
It should be noted that an order partially paid for using store credit will be charged tax only on the amount that is not covered by store credit.
