Your RSI Account, Game Package & Installation
To play Star Citizen, we operate servers on a 'live' environment, which you can access at any time through an RSI Account with a Game Package. The single-player campaign, Squadron 42 is still in development, and is not yet available.
- If you have not already done so, Create an RSI Account to get started.
- Browse our game packages to find the one for you. Each package has at least 1 ship, the game, and additional items to get you started.
- Download and install the RSI Launcher and Star Citizen game.
- Check our Spectrum Announcements for updates on releases.
Our video tutorial runs through the entire process of account creation to launching the game:
See the Star Citizen Universe page to explore the game world, planned systems and lore. For an overview of the current major space stations and landing zones to visit in-game, see the Locations in Star Citizen Knowledge Base guide.
Exploring Stanton System
The first time you load into Stanton System from the Universe menu, you will wake up aboard Port Olisar; a hub station located high above the gas giant Crusader. The video below introduces the basic movement and interaction controls of Star Citizen.
Get familiar with your ship's controls with this series of videos, which go over the basics of ship control and traversal throughout the universe.

Follow Development - Get Involved!
We have a thriving community through Spectrum, our chat and forums site. You can post questions and feedback, engage in discussions, and find other players. RSI and the Community team stream to Twitch and the official Youtube channel features several development-related series and special announcement videos.

You can check out the Public Roadmap for the latest details on our planned release schedule for both Star Citizen and Squadron 42. The Dev Tracker shows the Spectrum interactions of our developers, and our Public Telemetry shows near-live performance stats across a large range of system configurations.
Testing Star Citizen
Our amazing supporters, fans, and backers also put out a great deal of content, which we feature under the Citizen Spotlight. This features fan works such as art and stories, but also streams and videos; many of which are geared towards helping players get into the game. This section can be sorted by categories to find the content you want to see and is updated frequently.
