The Importance of Staying Healthy
Depending on what you've been up to, or any enemies that you may have made in your travels, experiencing bodily injury may come with the work. Injuries can greatly hinder someone's ability to function and severe injuries may prevent them from functioning at all. Here is a quick list of what injuries to various body parts will do should they occur:
- All Injuries -
Reduction in overall health (i.e. HP damage). Severe damage will lead to incapacitation and death. - Arm Injuries -
Reduced capacity to aim handheld weapons and lessened damage with melee weapons. Severe injuries will prevent a player from holding anything in their hands at all. - Leg Injuries -
Slowed movement speed. Severe injuries will prevent a player from walking, running, or even simply standing up. - Torso Injuries -
Reduction in stamina and thus the ability to sprint and run. Severe injuries may lead to incapacitation. - Head Injuries -
Impaired vision and hearing. Severe injuries may lead to incapacitation.
Incapacitated and Alone: Send for Help!
Should you find yourself alone in the 'verse and in a state where you can no longer move or worse, are incapacitated and dying, players can send out a mission beacon to request assistance from any nearby players.
If you are incapacitated, hold the M key to automatically send out a preset mission beacon. If you are using a different keyboard layout from a QWERTY layout, this may be bound to another key instead, for example on AZERTY keyboards this key is "," instead of "M" as the HUD may indicate. Our teams are looking into clarifying any keybind/UI conflicts for this function.
By default, the mission reward for this is set to 15,000 aUEC, which will be paid out to the player that accepted the mission once you have been delivered to any Emergency Medical drop-off area.
IMPORTANT!
As a reminder, if you die, your belongings will be left behind at your corpse and place of death. Seeking help before you die can prevent a lengthy journey to retrieve your stuff before someone else does.
Tools, Medicines, and Their Uses
When you are away from civilization and your ship, there are a few tools and items that any citizen should have handy to ensure they remain able to function. Keep in mind, severe injuries will still require treatment at an appropriate facility to truly fix.

What is Blood Drug Level?
Blood Drug Level, or BDL is a number that can be seen through your personal health status on your helmet display, or read through the use of a Curelife Medical Tool (see below). With a single exception noted below, the usage of any sort of medical or other drug will cause your BDL to increase.
If this number goes above 50% you will start to overdose and experience impairment such as blurred vision and mobility issues. This can be cured through the use of the Resurgera medical drug, also called DetoxPen in the pen form.
Curelife Medical Tool
The Curelife Medical Tool or CMT has two modes: Basic and Advanced. Basic mode acts as a MultiTool with a medical attachment while the advanced mode will allow for much more fine tuned administering of medical assistance for various maladies. Pictured on the right is the Advanced Mode of the CMT. To use the CMT:

Medical Drugs
Using the right remedy for the appropriate malady is important in health care. To learn what each of the five various medical drugs do refer to the chart below. While medical pens must be purchased and used individually, the Curelife Medical Tool (see above) can administer custom doses of all five of these using the advanced mode of the device.
Drug Name | Medical Pen Name | Purpose |
---|---|---|
Hemozal | MedPen | Healing HP damage and bleeding. |
Demexatrine | AdrenaPen | Symptoms of minor/major injuries of all types, such as aiming impairment, melee damage and stamina penalties, and vision or hearing impairments. |
Roxaphen | OpioPen | Symptoms of severe arm and leg injuries such as being unable to stand, walk, or hold objects in hand. |
Sterogen | CorticoPen | Symptoms of severe torso and head injuries such as vision and hearing impairments and extreme fatigue. |
Resurgera | DetoxPen | Reduces Blood Drug Levels (BDL) and symptoms of a drug overdose. |
Medical Facilities
Depending on your injuries, you may need more intense treatment than what might be offered by players or certain other facilities available in the 'verse. Below is a quick reference table to see where you need to head to sort yourself out.

*Death means that a player can respawn at this location should they die. You must first interact with an appropriate medical bed to set a respawn point.
**Ships with Tier 3 (T3) capabilities are smaller medical ships like the Cutlass Red, while ships with Tier 2 (T2) capabilities are larger ones like the Carrack and 890 Jump.
Emergency Medical Drop-Off
If you have sustained a severe injury and it is difficult for you to walk, an expedited option to get to a facility medical bed is available in any public hangar bay, shown above. This is also where players that have accepted a medical assistance beacon from an incapacitated player will need to drop off their injured charges to receive their reward.
This elevator goes directly to the medical facility. However you arrived, get over to a medical bed as soon as possible if you need assistance!
