There could be a few different reasons for receiving this message, which will arrive as an email message after entering the email address during the account recovery process.
Temporary System Issue
A new issue we have seen is an erroneous error message, meaning there is actually an account linked to the email, but the system has sent the incorrect message. Send the recovery request again after several minutes have passed.
Old or Alternate Email Accounts
The most common reason for this error message is due to players using the wrong email address when submitting the recovery request. Many people have multiple email accounts for a variety of reasons and more often than not, we discover that a "lost" account was simply under an old or alternate email used by the same player in the past. Should you receive this message, and a retry of the recovery process produces no results, attempt the recovery using your alternate email addresses.
If you do not have access to your old email addresses or cannot remember which email was used to register the RSI account, then you will need to submit a ticket to RSI Support for assistance. Keep in mind, changing the email on an RSI account fundamentally alters who can access it, thus RSI Support will likely require a great deal of information to identify you as the true account owner in order to make the change.
Unauthorized Email Change
A (hopefully) rare and unlikely issue, if someone else has access to your account and changed the registered email address, this error may be quite unexpected. Providing access to your account to third parties is not something we condone due to the possibility of damage to the account or removal of access, such is the case here in these cases.
If the email address on your RSI Account has been changed without your permission, contact RSI Support staff immediately for assistance.
