Storing or logging out from a Salvage Ship can prevent RMC from being collected
While using a Salvage Ship, if you logout via a bed or store the ship using an ASOP terminal, the next time you try to perform a salvage operation with this ship you may not gather Recycled Material Composite (RMC).
The Salvage operation will still show visual scraping being performed but no RMC is gained.
To workaround this issue, we recommend that you submit an insurance claim for the ship before retrieving it any time it is stored or you start a new session.
This may require that you destroy or abandon the ship away from your current landing location to be presented with the claim option.
Contacting ATC for Landing Permission May Not Show the Marker for your Assigned Hangar
This presents itself more often at planetary landing sites, as perhaps an underpaid hangar traffic controller has forgotten to do part of their job. When seeking permission for landing at a hangar, everything seems to work as intended except for the UI element indicating which hangar you were assigned. Keen eyed ship captains may be able to spot a hangar opening to accept them, but it may also be a hangar opening because someone else is leaving.
To prevent any strange crashes or clogging the landing areas, we recommend approaching a hangar appropriate for your size of ship before requesting permission to land, as there is a good chance the game will assign the hangar closest to you.
A Game Crash or Force Closing the Game during the Tutorial Prevents Entering the Persistent Universe
When playing through the available tutorials for both Area 18 and New Babbage, in the event that player is forced out of the game they will be unable to select to enter the Persistent Universe. This presents itself as a lack of an "Enter Universe" button upon selecting to skip the tutorial.
This only occurs when a player exits the tutorial through either a game crash or forcefully ending the game process in some manner, such as killing the game through the Windows Task Manager. Exiting the game via a menu or closing the game window with the "X" in windowed mode should not cause this.
To prevent this from happening in the first place, do not force close the game while undergoing any tutorial mission.
If this has happened to you and you are missing the "Enter Universe" button, you will need to elect to accept the tutorial instead of skipping it.
Dying and Quitting During the Tutorial Can Trap Players in Their Bed
Should a player be killed while progressing through the tutorial, if they quit out to the main menu and re-enter the game their character will be stuck inside the bed and unable to leave upon re-entering the Persistent Universe. This only happens during this specific set of events so players outside the tutorial should remain unaffected.
In this case, if you are killed during the tutorial, allow your character to respawn first before quitting the game to avoid getting stuck.
Leaving the Hangar in the Tutorial too Early Prevents Progression
During the New Babbage tutorial mission, if the player manages to leave the hangar before the hangar doors have fully opened, the mission will be stuck at the "Pilot the ship out of the hangar" step.
To prevent this, wait for the hangar doors to fully open before exiting.
If a player has found themselves stuck in this broken mission state, manually exit the game and re-login, then continue the tutorial. Alternately, a player can use the backspace key to respawn and try again.
Players May get Stuck in Transit Shuttle Seats
When a player is traveling and has chosen to take a seat inside a shuttle during the journey, the movement key of W will not allow the player to stand up to disembark at their destination.
In order stand up, players will need to use the Y key or click on the Get Up option in the UI.
Entering a Docking Arm Causes Players to Enter EVA State
Upon entering a docking arm in certain ships, players are unexpectedly being forced into EVA state. This has been observed to be happening at Orison with the docking arms of the Hull C, certain variants of the Hammerhead, and the 890 Jump.
This change in state is only present within the docking arm, so to return to normal modes of movement, players will need to simply exit the docking arm.
Gear/Equipment Looted from NPCs Cannot be Equipped after Starting a New Game Session
Our teams have identified an issue where gear and other related equipment is unable to be properly equipped if it is stored before logout. When a player returns to the game and attempts to equip any of their looted equipment from the previous session, it may appear to equip, but will not complete the equip process. This results in the item moving back into the inventory it was taken from and sometimes simply disappear entirely.
To combat this issue, we recommend moving any looted gear to a ship or local inventory before attempting to equip, and then re-equipping it. This can prevent the issue from occurring, regardless of if you have already equipped the looted items or not.
Alternately, if you do not want to gamble with looted equipment vanishing, using gear purchased from shops should not encounter this problem.
Ship Persistence and Vanishing Ships
We have identified and are also working on a fix for some issues with ships, similar to items as noted above. Newly acquired ships are being observed to vanish if they have not been properly delivered and stowed before logout. Some specifics for this issue:
- Filing an insurance claim will result in the loss of your ship or vehicle unless you retrieve and store it before logging out of the game.
- New ships purchased with aUEC will need to be delivered and then stowed to ensure it remains available on next login.
- Rentals need to be delivered and stowed or they will not be available on next login, regardless of the time left on the rental.
Basically, to ensure you don't lose a new ship, however it was acquired, make sure you deliver and stow it at least once before you logout of the game.
This is obviously a hugely frustrating issue and our teams are working on a fix for this as quickly as they can.
The Reliant cannot change flight modes
An issue has been identified where the Reliant is currently unable to switch its wing configuration or go into a vertical flight mode. This is currently affecting all variants of the ship. A fix is in the works for a future patch to resolve this issue with the ship.
Until the fix is live, we will be issuing all Reliant owners an Avenger Titan loaner to use for the time being.
Potential Game Crash When Moving Items from Local Inventory to Ship Inventory
When moving items from a local inventory (such as Grim Hex or Port Olisar) to a ship's inventory, there is a chance the game will crash when using the Shift + Left Click key combination to do so.
To avoid this major inconvenience, players can transfer items between inventory locations individually or use the MOVE ALL option instead.
Ejection Seats are not Ejecting
The expected function of an ejection seat is currently not working properly. Rather than ejecting from the ship, instead the ship/vehicle canopy will open but the seat will remain where it was. This is currently affecting all ships with ejection seats, such as the F8C, Sabre, Gladius, and Super Hornet. We have confirmed the cause and will have a fix implemented in a future patch.
For now, since the canopy will still open and detach, players can manually exit and escape the ship.
Dying in a Restricted Area results in "Restricted Area" alert spam
In the event that a player dies somewhere in a restricted area somehow, such as by crashing a ship, there is a chance that they will be spammed with the "Restricted Area" error message upon reviving. The messages continue even after the player has entered a non-restricted zone.
To remedy this and stop the message, the player must exit and re-login to the game. We are investigating a fix for this issue and expect it to be resolved in a future patch.
Character Customization Preview is not Displaying the Chosen Options
We are aware of an issue that is currently affecting the character customization preview. A number of display issues are present, which range from female choices displaying male models, only dark skin tones being displayed, and skin tone not changing when switching between available options. This understandably makes it very difficult to select and choose the proper options for a player's desired appearance.
This is only a preview display issue, and the selected options will applied correctly once in game. A fix is planned for a future patch.
ASOP Terminal Audio Errors
When interacting with and delivering a ship from an ASOP terminal, everything within the game and the interface itself indicates the ship was delivered properly, except for an audio error that the hangars are full and in-use. The audio error will state "All of our spaces are currently in use. Stand by for the next available assignment".
This is just an audio error and if there were no other errors reported in the ASOP terminal UI, then this can be ignored. Apologies for the confusion, and this will be fixed in a future patch.
Exiting into EVA from a Pilot Seat Results in Partial Control Loss
In the instance where a pilot of a ship exits directly into EVA, such as from a ship with only a cockpit and no other interior, the movement thrusters for EVA will be automatically firing. This results in the loss of mouse-based controls, but players can still use their keyboard movement keys to navigate. However, a player in this state will not be able to look around due to the mouse movement controls not functioning.
Fixes are in the works for this for a future patch. For now, we have seen some reports that using keyboard controls to fly around and gently bump into a solid object can help restore full control.
AI-Controlled Enemy Lasers Penetrate Shields
When fighting against AI-controlled vehicles and ships, if the enemy has any laser weapons in their arsenal, they have been reported to be far deadlier than intended. At the current time, AI enemy lasers will deal damage to both the shield and the hull of the ship/vehicle that is being hit. This issue does not effect PvP combat, and only appears in battles against computer controlled opponents.
As there is currently no workaround for this issue, please keep this extra damage in mind when setting out to fight against AI-controlled enemies for any missions.
An Impounded Hull-C is Respawning with Cargo Spindles Extended
In the situation where a player has for some reason had their Hull-C impounded while it had its cargo spindles extended, when it is recalled and retrieved from the impounded state, the cargo spindles will still be extended. If the ship is retrieved in a hangar that is too small for it in this state, this will result in the ship crashing, possibly exploding, and otherwise be unable to be moved should it remain intact.
To avoid this situation, if your Hull-C is impounded for some reason, only retrieve it at Orison, as this location will respawn it at a proper docking port.
Other Hull-C Issues
During testing phases, our teams and testers have encountered a number of issues that may be affecting the Hull-C, which range from strange error messages, issues with docking/undocking, problems with cargo loading or unloading, among others.
If you encounter any troubles with this ship, please report it on the Issue Council so that we can gather data and make this ship the best it can be.
Mercury Star Runner Ramp does not Extend Enough
We have identified and confirmed an issue with the Crusader Mercury Star Runner ramp. When the ramp is extended, it does not reach far enough to touch the ground, which renders it unusable to allow ground vehicles to enter the ship.
Players can still use the ramp to enter the ship if they jump, but there is no such easy work around for ground vehicles at this time, sadly. A fix is in the works for a future patch.
Client Crash around Lorville
We have investigated reports and confirmed a game client crash that can occur in the Lorville area of the game. This is related to graphics issues and can be solved by updating your video card drivers.
Graphics cards typically come with software to help manage driver updates, but if for some reason you have decided not to use those, you will need to head to the website for your video card manufacturer and download/install the most recent driver update from there.
Error 19003, 19004, 19005, and "player unstowed"
We are aware of and currently tracking the 19k and other login related errors and the causes behind them. Our teams are actively investigating the cause and will have more information when available, but currently this appears to be caused due to extreme server load and so it may take some time for things to clear up.
A great deal of changes were made to the way the game handles certain things and this is part one of growing pains as all our players come to see the new things added in the 3.18 patch.
We have had reports of players able to get in after receiving these errors but it may take several hours for that to happen. Utilizing the Character Repair tool may also help for resolving the "unstowed" error.
If you haven't already, please add information about your experience with these errors to relevant Issue Council reports, including what you have attempted that has allowed you to login, if applicable.
Error 40014
We have seen an increase of reports of players receiving the 40014 error, which can unfortunately prevent them from entering the game. There has been some mentions that some players have been able to access Arena Commander, but this does not seem to be consistent with all instances of the error.
We are actively tracking and looking for a solution to this and are seeking additional information, including any possible workarounds that have been found. If you encounter this error, please help us out by adding your information to this Issue Council report: STARC-62473
Issues with Shuttles, Trains, Trams, and Elevators
We have seen and verified reports for various issues with certain options for player transit, like trams, shuttles, and elevators. This can present itself from the tram or elevator flickering or appearing jittery to shuttles not arriving on time. While not common, there are also reports of players falling through the floor to their death unexpectedly.
A fix for many of these issues is planned for a future patch, but additional reports of issues to help document problems and locate new ones is always appreciated on the Issue Council.
Party Members Become Invisible
If players are together in a party are forced to respawn at the same time, reports are that some of the party members become unable to see each other or their ships. Should this occur for you and your party members, leaving the game instance for another or returning to the game menu to use party launch option again should resolve it.
Invisible Cargo
After purchasing or otherwise acquiring cargo in some way, the cargo itself may not appear in the designated ship cargo hold. However, the cargo is indeed there, simply invisible and can still be transported and sold normally.
A fix for this is expected in a future patch.
Error 0 / Code 0
This is an issue related to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and we are investigating the cause. In the meantime, to correct this, follow these steps:
- Delete the EAC folder located in the Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE folder.
- Fully close the RSI Launcher. Use the task bar and/or the task manager to ensure the process is killed if need be.
- Re-open the RSI Launcher
- Click the SETTINGS option
- Press the VERIFY button next to "Analyze game files".
Allow this process to finish. If this does not correct the issue, consider totally uninstalling the game and all related files for a fresh install to ensure all files are correct.
Game/Launcher Issues after a Server Crash
In the unfortunate event of a game server crash, players may encounter issues reconnecting to the game. This issue may present itself as an infinite loading screen or being unable to interact with the game menu.
If you encounter this issue, you will need to fully exit the game and restart to correct it.
Select System Menu is Empty
In rare cases the option to select a system to begin playing is totally missing from the game's main menu screen for entering the Persistent Universe. Should this occur, completely close both the game and the RSI Launcher and wait a few minutes before restarting the application. Ensure the tasks are completely ended in the Windows Task Manager as well.
Should the restart not work, a few players have reported that totally restarting their computer has helped.
If you encounter this, please consider adding your report to the Issue Council so we can work towards sorting out the root cause of the troubles.
